Flora Ardell "Flo" Few, 80, of Taneytown, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster, following a brief illness.
Born July 31, 1933, in Canonsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ray and Elizabeth Durbin Fonner.
She was a cook at the Carroll County Detention Center for 10 years, and at the Carroll Hospital Center for 13 years.
She was a volunteer cashier at Barrister's Cafe at the Carroll County Courthouse for 15 years. She was a member of Piney Creek Presbyterian Church near Harney. She enjoyed Dunkin' Donuts coffee and having her nails done. She was a collector of angels.
She was known for the many cards she sent to people and for being a generous and caring person, especially her grandchildren. She contributed to many charities.
Surviving are daughter Jamie Kreitz and fiance Eric Drolsum, of Taneytown; grandchildren Heather Lewelling, of Keymar, Ryan Kreitz, of Taneytown, Sara Eckard and husband Michael, of Union Bridge, and Kaitlyn Erb and husband Robert, of Ft. Hood, Texas; and great-grandchildren Isaac and Jacob Jones, and John Erb.
She was predeceased by sisters, Donna Kasko and Betty Fonner.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. H. Paul Matthews III officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Silver Run.
