Terry Penn, 69, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Golden Living in Gettysburg, Pa., after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 19, 1945, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William Thomas Penn and Blanche Arelia Penn.
He was a craftsman in the carpentry field, had his own business for years and built many fine-crafted homes. In later years, he worked at Walmart in Eldersburg.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are children Michelle Michael, of Gettysburg, Chris Penn, of Fairfield, Pa., Terry "T.J." Penn Jr., of Hampstead, Terry Lynn Penn, of Port Ritchie, Fla., Fannie Lynn Penn, of Jessup, and Kim Reitz, of Holiday, Fla.; twin brother, Tom Penn, of Sykesville, and brother James Egolf, of southern Maryland; sisters Helen Egolf, of Littlestown, Pa., and Edna May Henry, of Westminster; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers Lawrence, Lewis, Russell and William Egolf.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
