Nora Marie Smith, 89, of Westminster, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born Jan. 7, 1925, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Bessie Kroll Paul. She was the wife of William Frederick Smith, who died in 1987.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Super 60's, and was active in church visitation. She was an avid reader and enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with family.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Paul Hendrickson, of Emmitsburg, and Dawn Ecker-Griffin and Bill Griffin, of Westminster; grandchildren Eric, Adam and Nathan Hendrickson, Jenny Stein, and Thomas and Emily Ecker; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday at the Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, with the Rev. John Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
