Marie Blevins Smith, 89, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at home.
Born Aug. 21, 1924, in Crumpler, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Blevins and the late Maggie Young Blevins. She was the wife of the late William Albert Smith.
She worked at Black & Decker for 38 years.
She was a member of Faith Family Church in Gamber. She enjoyed spending time with family, canning, crocheting, watching her TV games and especially her Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law John and Betty Smith, of Westminster, Charles Edward Smith, of Monroe, New York, and Ronald and Deanna Smith, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; daughters and sons-in-law Janet and Paul Willhide, of Eastover, North Carolina, Mildred and Dale Webb, and Dorothy and John Poole, all of Sykesville; six sisters; a brother; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Paul David Willhide; a brother; and a sister.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield; from 11 a.m. until the time of service, noon Tuesday at Faith Family Church, 4150 Sykesville Road, Finksburg, with the Rev. Paul Andrews officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Gardens will be Finksburg.
