Roland Bruce Wintersteen Jr., 69, of Westminster, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at home.

Born Feb. 20, 1945, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Anna Simpson Wintersteen and Roland B. Wintersteen Sr.

He was a police officer in the Northern District in Baltimore City, retiring in 1990. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed golf, fishing, skiing and billiards. He was a member of VFW Molleville Farm Post 467, the American Legion Carroll Post 31 in Westminster and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 in Baltimore.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Melissa Ann and Dave Harding, of Fallston, and Diana Lynn and Michael Holland, of Finksburg; brother and sister-in-law Brian and Joyce Wintersteen, of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren Amanda Pearce, Camden, Kalista and Remington Harding, and Christian and Andrew Holland; a nephew, Bryan Wintersteen; and a niece, Laurie White.

Services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel in Westminster.
