Frederick J. Berry Jr., 71, of Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Manchester, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born Sept. 20, 1942, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Frederick and Grace Hain Berry. He was the husband of Patricia Ann Baker Berry.
He was an Army
veteran and had been stationed in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He retired from Lafarge Concrete as a CDL driver after 26 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Dagsboro and the AmVets in Millsboro. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and trapshooting.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a stepdaughter, Patricia Pentz, of Manchester; a stepson, James Dobson; a grandson, Timothy Noakes; a son, Frederick Whitacre, of Brooklyn Park; brothers Jack Hain and wife Pat, of Lake Wales, Florida, Edgar R. Hain and wife Nancy, of Millsboro, and Robert Berry and wife Debbie, of Hanover, Pennsylvania; and sisters Barbara Boerner and husband Edgar, of Manchester, Dorothy Ernst and husband Jack, of Hanover, and Nancy Greenholt and husband Tom, of McSherrystown, Pennsylvania.
Per his wishes, the family will have a private memorial service.
