Joan E. Battaglia, 81, of Fayettville, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Lorien of Taneytown.
Born Nov. 5, 1932, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James O. Booker and Josephine E. Florin Booker.
She was a high school graduate in Baltimore and worked in sales.
She loved to work, paint, dance and go to auctions and yard sales. She also enjoyed gardening and decorating.
Surviving are children Debbie Simmons and husband Jimmy, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dawn Luhn and husband Earl, of Taneytown, Darla Sealand and husband Joe, of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, and Martin E. Knight and wife Carla, of Chestertown; grandchildren Amber Dulaney, of Union Bridge, Earl Luhn III, of Taneytown, Joe Seal, of Littlestown, and Kelly and Tyler Knight, of Chestertown; great-grandchildren Emma Dulaney, of Union Bridge, and Emmitt Knight, of Chestertown; brother James Booker and wife Harlene, of Ohio; and sister Joyce Farmer and husband Bill, of Delaware.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Timothy J. Kielley, of New Hope Faith Community Church in Hanover, officiating. Inurnment will be private.
