Charles Alan Stansbury (Stan) of Barefoot Bay, FL formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at VNA Hospice of Vero Beach, FL. Born March 11, 1934 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Clarence (Ted) Stansbury and Mary Bridges Stansbury, and brother of the late Robert Stansbury. He was the husband of Patricia Crabbs Stansbury, his wife of 56 years. He was a 1952 graduate of Westminster High School. Prior to retirement he worked for Watkins Amusement, Carroll County Sheriff Dept, and Carroll Hospital Center. He was a member of the Taneytown American Legion, Hesson-Snider Post #120 and Westminster Moose Lodge #1381. He served in the U.S. Navy. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and son-in-law Sherrie and Michael Cooke of Sebastian FL; sister Patricia Redmer of Hampstead; grandchildren Jenny and husband Jason Serfecz and Kevin Cooke; great-grandson, Alex and nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be held Saturday, July 19th at 2:00 pm at the Taneytown American Legion, 9 Broad St, Taneytown, MD 21787.
