Ruth Emma Anderson Scott, 91, of Manchester formerly of Edgemere died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her home. Born June 5, 1923 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Anderson and Isabel Hoffman Anderson. She was the wife of H. James Scott, who died in 1991. She was a homemaker. Before moving to Manchester, she had lived in Edgemere for 30 years and then retired to Texas with her husband. Surviving are her children Lois, Jimmy, Kenny, Larry, Doris, Janet, Melvin, and Carol; her brother Edwin "Jerry" Anderson, Jr.; her 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Anderson. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ann Schlossnagle officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Woodlawn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
