Monzie Zumbrun Yingling, 94, of Hanover, PA died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA. Born August 22, 1919 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Rock Henry Nelson Zumbrun and Mary Rill Zumbrun. She was the wife of the late Roland M. Yingling. Years ago, she was a seamstress for English American Tailoring. She was a former member of the Carroll County Homemakers and was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Bachmans Valley and St. Marks Lutheran Church, Snydersburg. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Manchester School and through the years she raised numerous foster children. She enjoyed the staff and living at Homewood at Plum Creek. She is survived by her sons, Nevin Yingling and wife Janet of New Franklin, OH, John Thomas Yingling and wife Arlene of Manchester, and Steven Yingling of Westminster; her brother, William "Bill" Henry Zumbrun of Hampstead, grandchildren, Andy, Jason, Jenny, Rachael, Shelly, April, Jesse, Chris and Brian. She was also survived by 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, George Nelson and John David Zumbrun. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday. Interment will be in John Luther Miller Cemetery, Westminster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homewood at Plum Creek, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, PA 17331.
