Ethel Lydia Harrell, 100, of Manchester, died Friday August 1, 2014 at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster. Born May 20, 1914 in Bakersville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ed & Sally Ledford Gouge. She was the wife of the late Rob Harrell, who passed away in 1992. She was a past member of the Manchester Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Linda & Steve Huff, son Ken Harrell, both of Manchester, son Hollis Harrell and wife Sally of Hanover, Pa., son Robert E. Harrell and wife Nancy of Westminster and son F. Douglas Harrell and Mimi of Hampstead. She is also survived by sisters Mary Parker and Edna Masters of Gray, Tenn., and Lois Street of Bakersville, NC and brother Bradley Gouge and wife Charlene of Johnson City, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters Helena, Pansy and Myrtle and brother Farrell Gouge. The family will receive friends Sunday August 3, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday August 4 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Earl Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Manchester Baptist Edgar Shanks Cemetery, Manchester.
