Dr. Renzo Ricci, 75, of Finksburg, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born October 19, 1938 in Rome, Italy, he was the son of the late Giacomo and Nerina DelPiero Ricci. He was the husband of Sandra A. Borrelli Ricci whom he married in 1968. He was a family physician, practicing in Finksburg. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Rome, La Sapienza. He served in the Italian military in Perugia. Dr. Ricci completed his residency in Family Practice at St. Mary's Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey and practiced Family Medicine in Carroll County since 1980, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glyndon. Dr. Ricci was a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, painting, baking and traveling. Surviving in addition to his wife are children Daniela Ricci and husband Nicholas Tolson of Washington, DC and Matteo Ricci and wife Heidi Ricci of Westminster; brother Stefano Ricci of Rome, Italy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dr. Niel and JoAnne Borrelli and Frank and Jean Borrelli; grandchildren Anthony and Julianna Ricci of Westminster, and beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster and one hour prior to the Mass in the Church foyer. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon. Officiating will be Monsignor Lloyd Aiken. Entombment will be private.
