Carol Brothers Obituary

Carol Ann Brothers, 64, of Gamber, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born Feb. 7, 1946, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Kindig Baumes. She was the wife of Calvin W. Brothers. She had been a day care provider for many years. She enjoyed being around children and had been very active in 4H and as a 4H leader. She also enjoyed camping. She was a member of the Gamber & Community Volunteer Fire Company for more than 40 years. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons and daughter-in-law Rick Bartles, of Glen Burnie, and Jay and Alisha Bartels, of Gamber; daughter and son-in-law Jen and Chad Dean, of Odenton; a brother, John Baumes, of North Carolina; sisters Linda Fairbanks, of Texas, and Anna Loham, of Florida; and grandchildren Tyler Bartels, Kera Jefcoat and Kaitlyn Riddle. She was predeceased by a grandson, John Eric Bartels. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery in Gamber. Memorial contributions may be sent to The JEB Foundation, 3897B Sykesville Road, Finksburg, MD 21048; or to Gamber & Community Volunteer Fire Dept., 3838 Niner Road, Finksburg, MD 21048.
