Vera W. Kapraun, 75, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Sykesville, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at Hanover Hospital. Born July 27, 1935, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Henry Jr. and Lillian Mae Spencer Watts. She had been a court clerk with the Towson District for 27 years. She had also been a beautician at Springfield Hospital, a telephone operator at Mount Wilson Hospital and a school bus aide. Surviving are son Charles C. Kapraun II and wife Judith, of Hanover; daughter and son-in-law Deanna and Mark Avadikian, of Westminster; a brother-in-law, George Walter, of Jacksonville, N.C.; grandchildren Eric Avadikian, Kelly Thorn and husband Phil, Courtney Kapraun, Brian and Kevin Avadikian, and Heather Hunter and husband Phillip; and great-grandchildren Sean Caudill and Brianna Seymore. She was predeceased by siblings Timothy and Emmitt Watts, Jesselee Vanscoy, Leona Yool and Jacquelyn A. Walter. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev.
