Robert Bennett Kimble Sr., 93, of Woodbine, formerly of Nottingham, Pa., died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster. Born March 3, 1918, in Nottingham, he was the son of the late Hope Jenkins and W. Roy Kimble. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane Bard Kimble. He was a self-employed concrete contractor, a member of the Crisfield American Legion, and a veteran of the Marine Corps. He enjoyed children, woodworking, fishing and gardening. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Barbara Rhodes, of Woodbine, Alice and Harry Witmer, of Oxford, Pa., Mary Lou Patterson, of Olathe, Kan., Beverly Kimble, of La Center, Wash., and Deborah and Bill Standiford, of Port Deposit; sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Marilyn Kimble Jr., of Hampstead, N.C., and Jeff and Shelly Kimble, of Sykesville; a sister, Alice Mullen, of Illinois; a sister-in-law Doris Rhoades, of Oxford; a niece, Kellie Rhoades, of Elkton; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by six siblings. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at Nottingham Presbyterian Church, 497 Christine Road, Nottingham. Inurnment will be in Nottingham Cemetery.
