Gary Richard Crampton, 66, of Waynesboro, Pa., formerly of Frederick, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at home.
Born Jan. 18, 1946, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Luther B. Crampton Jr. and Isabel S. Smith Crampton. He was the husband of Vicki Lynn Abrecht Crampton, his wife of 45 years.
He was a 1964 graduate of Linganore High School and was a veteran of the Army
Reserves. He was a member of the Waynesboro Fish and Game Club and the Blue Ridge Sportsman's Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and enjoyed spending time with his pet dog Hercules and cat Abigail.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are siblings Judith Fogle and Nevin Crampton, both of Mount Airy, and Sharon Mercer, of Mount Pleasant; four nieces; and one nephew.
He was predeceased by a twin brother, Jerry Crampton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday; and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Steven Ostendorf-Snell officiating. Interment will follow in Grace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Taneytown.
