Theda Aileen Dayhoff, 90, of Westminster, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Citizen's Nursing Home in Frederick, after an illness of several months.

Born June 27, 1922, in New Windsor, she was a daughter of the late John Oden and Bessie Kelly Warner. She was the wife of Eugene E. Dayhoff, who died in 2002.

She was formerly employed with Westminster Coat Company, and then with Black and Decker in Hampstead as a machine operator for 20 years, retiring in 1981.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in New Windsor, charter member of Ladies Auxiliary of New Windsor Fire Company, where she was a member of the original drill team, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 467, Women of the Moose, and American Legion Post 31, all of Westminster.

She was a lifelong resident of Carroll County, and in February went to live with her sister in Frederick. She enjoyed shopping at Cranberry Mall, now the TownMall of Westminster, assisting elderly people and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are sons James E. Dyer and wife Brenda, of Green River, Wyo., and F. Douglas Dyer, of Westminster; a sister, Julia Hoff, of Frederick; a brother, John L. Warner, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; grandchildren Theda Lynn Merson, Tanya Pittinger, and Kelly, Chad, Scott and Robert Dyer; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by grandsons Eric Dyer and Bradley Lee Dyer; sisters Helen Rhodes, Marjorie Dyer and Jane Wolfe; and a brother, Alfred O. Warner.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 200 Main St., New Windsor, with her pastor, the Rev. Helen Armiger, officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown.
