Frances Elaine Easton, 93, of Westminster, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center in Westminster.
Born Nov. 18, 1919, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Richter Rickell. She was the wife of George P. Easton, who died March 26, 1981.
She had been a homemaker. She attended St. John Catholic Church all of her life. She was a 1937 graduate of Westminster High School. She enjoyed volunteering, especially in the gift shop at Carroll Hospital Center, where she served in the auxiliary and was recognized for 32 years of service to the hospital and also for Meals on Wheels. She also was known for her flower and vegetable gardening skills, traveling and playing cards with her group of lifelong friends.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Georgia and Martin Frank, of Westminster; grandson and wife Timothy M. and Selen Frank, of Blacksburg, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the youngest of eight deceased brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where a Christian wake service will be held Tuesday evening.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with the Rev. Gerard Steffener officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
