Sharon Louise Young, 60, of Hanover, Pa., died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at York Hospital, due to injuries from a fall in her home.

Born Aug. 28, 1952, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Wesley and Frances Houck Beard. She was the wife of Clark J. Young, her husband of 39 years.

She was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, class of 1970, and of the nursing program at Frederick Community College. She was employed as a registered nurse with the State of Maryland, retiring in 2010.

She was a member of Mount Union Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters Stacey and Heather Young, both of Hanover; and sister Debra Geisinger and husband Dennis, of Taneytown.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Union Lutheran Church, 5000 Middleburg Road, near Union Bridge, with her pastor, the Rev. Richard L. Michael officiating.
