Florence Lucille Cooper, 78, of Westminster, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster.
Born Sept. 16, 1934, in Hampstead, she was the daughter of the late James and Eliza Grimm Talbert. She was the wife of Charles Elwood Cooper, her husband of 57 years.
She had been a teacher's aide at Hampstead Elementary and a substitute mail carrier.
She was a life member of St. John's United Methodist in Hampstead, and the Snydersburg Homemakers Club. She enjoyed crocheting, following the Baltimore Orioles, playing bingo, collecting butterfly jewelry and doing puzzles. She also enjoyed Utz potato chips. She sang in the church choir and the Carroll County Choral Society.
Surviving are are a daughter, Linda Diane Jones, of Taneytown; a son-in-law, William Jones; a son, David Michael Cooper, of Glenville, Pa.; sisters Rosanna Strevig, of Hanover, Pa., and Wenona L. Sirk, of Westminster; a brother, Richard E. Talbert, of Westminster; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a step-grandchild, Justin Tipton; a brother, James Talbert Jr.; and a sister, June Talbert.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Melissa Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
