Dorothy Virginia Wilhelm, 81, of Hampstead, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.
Born Oct. 2, 1931, in Hampstead, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Bowman Rill. She was the wife of John Robert Wilhelm, who died in 2004.
Prior to retirement, she had worked for Black & Decker and later as a secretary for Rittenhouse Fuel Company. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose
and the Hampstead Business Association. She enjoyed fishing, crabbing, bingo, dancing and country music.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Lee Wilhelm, of Hanover, Pa.; a daughter, Deborah Ann Gentzel, of Westminster; sisters Nora Lee Arentz, of Hanover, and Joyce Murray, of Manchester; brothers Roger Rill, of Hanover, and Edward Eugene Rill, of Hampstead; three grandchildren; seven great-granchildren; and a friend, Earl Seipp, of Westminster.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Kay Wilhelm; and brothers Clarence, Robert and Dennis Rill.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Adams officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Abraham's Lutheran Cemetery, 4029 Beckleysville Road, Hampstead.
