Glenn E. Sell Sr., 92, of Gettysburg, Pa., died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg.
Born May 30, 1921, in Westminster, he was a son of the late Serenus and Grace Brown Sell. He was the husband of Mary Louise Beck Sell, who died Nov. 14, 2004.
He was a veteran
of the Army
, serving his country proudly during World War II
and received the Distinguished Unit Badge with two Bronze Stars
. He was employed for 22 years with Glen-Gery Brick, formerly Alwine Brick Company. He was also employed with the Orange County School District in Florida for six years.
Surviving are son Glenn E. Sell Jr. and wife Linda, of New Oxford, Pa.; daughter Sandy L. Brohard and husband John, of Gardners, Pa.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Edna Boone, of Westminster.
He was predeceased by brothers William, Walter, Edgar, Dale, Edwin and Victor Sell.
Viewing and a time to share memories will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service celebrating his life, 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with the Rev. Nathan Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg, where full military honors will be provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
