Alma Beatrice Spears Rayburn passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 at the Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, Ind. She was 95. Born June 14, 1919 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Deva Mae Bastin Spears. She confirmed her faith at an early age. Alma became a member of the First Baptist Church in Yosemite and helped with fund raisers and anything else she could do to win souls to Christ. She later became a member at New Life Baptist Church in Liberty. Alma was a hard worker at anything she did, whether it be her church or nursing the elderly. As age took its toll on her body, she went to Indiana to be with her family and later entered Homeview Health and Rehabilitation. She was loved by so many at Homeview, nurses and patients alike. Survivors include two children, C J (and Teri Egner) Rayburn of Whiteland, Ind. and Joyce (and Donald) Gaskin of Hustonville; 10 grandchildren, Jeff Clements, Glenda Reitz, Jerome (and Pam) Brown, Jill (and Kenneth) Kelley, Eva (and Don) Goeb, Carla Rayburn-Pohl, Kimberly (and Steve) Wagers, Shawna (and Ryan) Bledsoe, Christian Rayburn and Chandler Rayburn; 18 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Scott, Bryan, Austin, Courtney, Marah, Elisabeth, Ethan, Sierra, Donnie, Emily, Justin, Haley, Sammy, Trevor, Jackson, Ross and Jane; nine great-great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Dylan, Isabella, Hayden, Cailynn, Adalina, R.J., Isaac and Sofia; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Rayborn, whom she married July 5, 1935; and two siblings, Vernon Cephas Spears and Joyce Marie Frederick. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 25) at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Yosemite Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is today (Wednesday) from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with guestbook available online at www.mckinneybrown.com.
