Bill Phelps passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at his home in Casey County. He was 60. Born June 28, 1952 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Charlie M. and Fay Ratliff Phelps. He worked in the logging industry. Survivors include his beloved wife, Wanda Long Phelps of Liberty; a daughter, Kimberly K. (and Jay) Stanley of Saltillo, Miss.; three grandchildren, Cody and Wyatt Hebrock and Jace Stanley; three brothers, Jerry and Charlie W. Phelps of Sterns and Jim Phelps of Whitley City; and five sisters, Louise Stogsdill of Somerset, Cheryl Meece of Bowling Green, Jean Hutcherson of Frankfort, Fayrene Addington of Morganton, Ga. and Barbara DeLoach of Bainbridge, Ga. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Phelps; and a sister, Donna New. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, March 8 at Barnetts Creek United Methodist Church with Barry Bradshaw officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the church. Cremation rites have been honored by McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Barnetts Creek United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
