Cordell Kenneth Brown, 65, of Danville, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Walters Brown. Cordell was born Nov. 20, 1951, to Adell Cochran Brown of Liberty and the late Marvin Brown. Cordell attended Casey County High School, Lindsey Wilson Jr. College, Cumberland College and graduated from Samford University Pharmacy School. He practiced pharmacy for 40 years and retired from King Pharmacy in Hazard in November 2016.

He was an active member of Southland Christian Church, where he was involved in volunteering and his life group. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was happiest surrounded by his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include a son, Micah Brown of Somerset; two daughters, Sarah Underwood (Jon) of Wilmore and Rebekah Bertram (Josh) of Danville; a daughter-in-law, Pam Brown of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Andrew Doyle, Hunter Brown, Aly Doyle, Laura Brown, Clayton Bertram, Claire Bertram, Davis Underwood, Dexter and Cate; and three sisters, Marlene Carmicle (Mike) of Liberty, Dianne Brown of Lousiville and Teresa East of Liberty.

The funeral is at noon Tuesday, March 28, at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home in Danville with Glenn Toney officiating. Burial follows in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 27, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jack Coffey, David Aldridge, Rick Lee, Steve Brown, Josh Bertram and Jon Underwood.
