Curtis R. Crew, 82, of Cain Road in Liberty, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, in the same room at University of Kentucky Hospital that his wife, Ida Joyce Cain Crew, died in on May 29, 2014.

Born Feb. 16, 1934, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Lewis Virgil and Inez Ragle Crew.
Curtis was a former factory worker and a member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. He was a former sawmill worker for Wolford and Wethington and also a farmer. Curtis enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Crew of Liberty; a daughter, Jennifer Overstreet of Liberty; a brother, Arvin Crew of Liberty; a sister, Fredia McCormick of Liberty; and four grandchildren, Trent, Abi, Jack and Vinny.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 9whom he married on July 23, 19620; Ida Joyce Cain Crew; a daughter, Carol Ann Crew; five brothers, Lloyd, Carlos, John, Beachel and Eldie Crew; and a sister, Gail Andrews.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Rodney Smith officiating. Burial follows in Fair Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
