Dallas Propes, 68, of Liberty, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born Aug. 13, 1948, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas Propes and Glades Brown Propes. He was an Army veteran and retired house painter. He was a member of Atwood Chapel United Metodist Church. Dallas was a gun enthusiast and loved woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Chelf Propes of Liberty, whom he married Dec. 8, 2007; two daughters, Christine Hall-Propes and Kim Propes, both of Lexington; two stepsons, Kevin (Debra) Bryant of Somerset and David (Stephanie) Bryant of Mobile, Alabama; a stepdaughter, Debbie (Danny) Tapscott of Liberty; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale (Wanda) Propes of Frankfort; and two sisters, Linda (Steve) Leech of Peoria, Illinois, and Judy (Larry) Atkinson of Winchester.

A memorial service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Atwood Chapel United Methodist Church in Liberty with Brother Keith Nicholas officiating.

Visitation is from 2 p.m. Sunday until the service.
