David Charles Peto of Liberty died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 94. Born in Nutley, N.J. On May 23, 1920, he was a son of the late Harold R. and Ruth Poulston Peto. He was a retired U.S. Navy captain, serving during World War II. He was the widower of Elizabeth Leffingwell Peto. Survivors include four daughters, Elizabeth Peto of Seattle, Wash., Joan Baker of Liberty, Ruth Alderfer of Roanoke, Va., and Suzanne Peto of Madison, Wisc.; two sons, David Sullivan of Liberty and Charles Peto of Encinitas, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Memorial services and interment will be held at a later date in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Cremation rites were honored by Bartle Funeral Home Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South East Volunteer Fire Department or the Casey County Ambulance Service. Condolences may be made at www.bartlefuneralhome.com.
