Doris Evelyn Trammell of Liberty passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Lexington. She was 78.
Born July 17, 1937 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Matthew T. and Estell Fottenbury Cooper.
Ms. Doris was retired with 30 years from Fruit of the Loom.  She was a member of the Sanders Chapel Church in Columbia. During the time Ms. Doris was a resident at the Liberty Care Center, she was the president of the Elder Council, general store clerk, and the elder advocate.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Debbie Trammell of Commerce Ga.; one granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Trammell; two brothers, Raymond (and Edwinna) Cooper of Liberty and Ronnie (and Geneva) Cooper of Alabama; and two sisters, Helen Clements and Margaret Bell, both of Liberty.
Ms. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Trammell Jr., who passed away Dec. 19, 1987; a son, Rev. Donald Gene Trammell; five brothers, Matthew T. Cooper Jr., Thomas Jackson Cooper, Harold L. Cooper, Ortis Cooper and Gary Cooper; and one sister, Sible Darlene Cooper.
Funeral services were March 19 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Corbin officiating.  Burial was in Hiter Cemetery.
