Dorothy Bell Choate, 103, of Liberty, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at her home.

Born Feb. 20, 1913, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late O.T. and Cora Peck Allen. She was a housewife and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Choate enjoyed cooking, gardening and visiting with her family.

Survivors include three sons, Jack G. (Mary) Choate of Barbourville, Kenneth K. (June) Choate of Liberty and Ronnie M. (Jutta) of Greenwood, Indiana; four daughters, Alta L. (Paul) McFarland of Stanford, Mona Joyce (Bobby) Granger of Albany, Mildred C. (Hubert) Jones and Brenda S. (Robert) Ponder, both of Greenwood, Indiana; a brother, Johnny Allen of Florida; and a sister, Diana Woods of Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Choate was preceded in death by her husband, George Christopher Choate; a son, William Choate; four brothers; and two sisters.

The funeral was Sunday, Nov. 13, at Grace Baptist Church with Brothers Brandon Wilson and Dwight Coffman officiating. Burial was in Allen Cemetery.
