Eleanor "Elli" Florence Lipschutz died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, to Eugene and Dorothy Braunstone Lipschutz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel (who died in childhood); and a sister, Amy.

Elli was known by many in Casey County as "the Dottidale lady." She moved to Casey County in 1984 with Amy and 11 retired Dalmatians. Elli and Amy had owned and operated the nationally known Dottidale Kennel in Millbrook, New York, where they bred, raised and trained champion Dalmatians, some of which were shown at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New
York City as well as other national dog show venues.

Elli was a talented artist and enjoyed working with her hands. In addition to her drawings, she designed and created animal dolls with beautiful handmade costumes. She won many awards in local and state fairs with her creations.

Elli is survived by cousins Herbert Snyder of Bethesda, Maryland, and Helen Granatelli of Staten Island, New York. She is also survived by special friends, Betsy Allen-Smith of Warrenton, Virginia, Jerry Foster of Liberty and Joberta Wells of Yosemite; and many friends in the Dalmatian Club of America.

At her request there will be no funeral or memorial service.

Donations in her memory are suggested to the Dalmatian Club of America Foundation, care of Sheila Wymore, P.O. Box 333, Cornville, AZ 86325 or to Casey County Public Library, 238 Middleburg St., Liberty, KY 42539.
