Eugene Vaught of Liberty passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 87.
Born Dec. 15, 1927 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Sam and Leathie Edwards Vaught.
For 60 years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Ina Allen Vaught, whom he married Jan. 17, 1950; a son, Darrell (and Wendy) Vaught of Westmoreland, Tenn.; a daughter, Barbara (and Gale) Scott of Liberty; six grandchildren, Nicholas Scott, Adam Scott, Bethany Watson, Meagan Vaught, Gordon Vaught and Jessica Vaught; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers, Vallas, Icie Lee, Melvin "Biggie", Herman, Sam Jr., Arvin, Elvin "Littlie," B.D., and John Earl Vaught; and three sisters, Dorothy Brown, Irene Bryant and Alma Monday.
Funeral services will be today (June 24) at 11 a.m. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Huggins officiating.
Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
