Everett "Tude" Simpson of Liberty died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at his home. He was 81.
Born in Casey County on Dec. 11, 1934, he was the son of the late John William and Mary Mae Yates Simpson.
He was a self-employed logger, former employee of Liberty Motors, Griffin-Wesley Ford, and Wright Implement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Athens Church of Christ.
He was the widower of Dorothy Louise Meeks Simpson.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Simpson of Liberty; a daughter, Tammy Pevley of Liberty; five grandchildren, Lucas, Matthew and Amanda Simpson, Nikki Brock, and Ricky Pevley; and seven great-grandchildren, Bradley and Holden Randolph, Chloe Simpson, Addyson, Alexis and Jace Brock, and Gabby Pevley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arvil Simpson; and a sister, Hallie Pearl Simpson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 23 at 1 p.m. at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dallon McDonald officiating. Burial will be in South Fork Ridge Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard.
