Flora Reid of Liberty passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Stanford. She was 93. Born Dec. 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William and Viola Noe Clements of Liberty. Flora worked as a dental assistant for many years for Dr. Brown in Liberty. She also spent many years as a house parent at Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. She was the loving mother of Barbara (and Curtis) True, Virginia (and George) Kendrick, and the late Clarice Williams. She is survived by five grandchildren, Gary (and Mindy) True of Harrodsburg, Audrey (and Scott) Rousey of Hustonville, Heather (and Dan) Johnson and Da Vida (and Ron) Gyr, both of Frankfort, and Andrea (and John) Mesplay of Danville; six great-grandchildren, Connor and Courtney True, Tanner and Seth Gyr, and Harrison and Jackson Mesplay; and a sister, Aleena Sutherland of Hopkinsville. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Sanders, Mae Clements, Lucille Gilpin, and Ruth Eberly. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. at the Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Hiner officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Gary True, Scott Rousey, Dan Johnson, Ron Gyr, John Mesplay, George Kendrick and Ray Williams. Honorary bearers are Courtney True, Connor True, Tannor Gyr, Seth Gyr, Harrison Mesplay and Jackson Mesplay. The family requests donations be sent to the Liberty United Methodist Church (108 Hustonville St., Liberty, KY 42539) or Heritage Hospice, (P.O. Box 1213, Danville, KY 40423). Spurlin Funeral Home (Stanford) is in charge of arrangements.
