Forrest Clifton "Bub" Stafford of Liberty died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 93. Born in Liberty on Dec. 4, 1920, he was the son of the late Herman and Mattie Zachary Stafford. He was a U.S. Army veteran; and a member, elder and trustee of Westside Christian Church. He was a high school teacher, elementary principal, middle school principal, Director of Transportation for Casey County and when he retired, he was principal of Casey County High School. Bub had a love for woodworking, where he had a special talent. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Hatter Stafford, whom he married on March 8, 1946; a daughter, Donna Gail Stafford Rousey of Lexington (and the late Billy Rousey); a son, Danny Forrest (and Brenda) Stafford of Loxahatchee, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Forrest Scott (and Stephanie) Rousey, William Chadley Rousey, Deborah Rousey (and Rob) Ristaneo, Heather Nicole Stafford (and Joseph) Wilkos, Daniel Forrest Stafford, Matthew Alexander Stafford and Zachary Taylor Stafford; six great-grandchildren, Robert Ristaneo, Lauren Ristaneo, Lucy Ristaneo, Adam Rousey, Nate Rousey and Abby Wilkos; a brother, Tommy Stafford of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a sister, June Ann Ward of Louisville. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Stafford Vaught, Iola Stafford Buchanan and Eva Stafford; and two brothers, Cecil Earl "Dempsey" Stafford and Grady Stafford. Funeral services were May 17 at Westside Christian Church with Rev. Marty Shackelford officiating. Burial was at Glenwood Cemetery with military rites. Pallbearers were Matthew Stafford, Scott Rousey, Rob Ristaneo, Joe Wilkos, Nate Rousey and Daniel Stafford. Honorary pallbearers were Chad Rousey and Zac Stafford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westside Christian Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Bartle Funeral Home Liberty was in charge of arrangements.
