Gerald Allen "Bam" Harris, 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at his residence in Franklin, Ind.
He was born Aug. 22, 1947 in Liberty, Kentucky to Allen and Zella (Padgett) Harris.
He married Karen Ogle on March 22, 2014. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Brian (Lorie) Harris; Kim (Steve Nichols) Adams; Brent (Brittany Wilson) Harris; Karla Fulner; Kayla Fulner and Kara Fulner, all of Franklin; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Motes of Auburn, Ky.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; brothers, Ralph and David Harris; and twin sister, Geraldine Harris.
He attended Casey County schools in Kentucky. Bam was a laborer with Local 120, Laborers and Hod Carriers. He was employed by Far West Construction in Indianapolis. He retired after many years of dedicated service.
He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin. Bam was a wheeler-dealer. He enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets and the casino in Shelbyville. He loved cruising around town, visiting with his many friends. He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Pastor Jerry Yaden conducted a celebration of Bam's life on August 25 at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
