Henry "Poppy" Luttrell of Mt. Ayr, Ind. passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, Aug. 14, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was 90. He was born in Casey County on Jan. 13, 1923, the son of the late Everett and Lula Luttrell. On March 29, 1943, he married his wife Caroline. She preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 1995. Poppy was a self-employed farmer. He attended the Apostolic Bible Church in Rensselaer, Ind. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, cutting firewood and refurbishing old houses. Poppy is survived by his loving family, six children, Lula Mae Floyd of Mt. Ayr, Ind., Phyllis (Mrs. John) Smith of Mt. Ayr, Ind., Rose (Mrs. Richard) Shultz of Rensselaer, Ind., Jerry (wife Helen) Luttrell of Rensselaer, Ind., William (wife Carol) Luttrell of Mt. Ayr, Ind. and Marvin (wife Deb) Luttrell of Kentucky; two brothers, Ray Luttrell and Curt (wife Peg) Luttrell, both of Kentucky; 30 grandchildren; 102 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers; three sisters; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at Iroquois Valley Christian Church with Rev. Larry Hart officiating. Interment was at DeMotte Cemetery in DeMotte, Ind.
