James "Jim" Edens

James "Jim" Edens, 69, of Bethelridge, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 17, 1947, in Pulaski County. He was the son of the late Reece and Beulah Hendricks Edens. He was a Marine Corps veteran and longtime employee of Tecumseh. He was of the Methodist faith. Jim loved farming and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Chadwell Edens, whom he married July 1, 1967; a son, Brian Edens of Bethelridge; a daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Spears of Bethelridge; two grandchildren, Caria Day and Brenden Reece Edens; a great-grandchild, Raylee Day; a brother, Benny Ray (Teresa) Edens of Biloxi, Mississippi; and a sister, Julia (Ed) Brown of Lexington.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Edens; and a sister, Alice Gosser.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec.4, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty with Brother Linville Hatter officiating. Burial with military honors by the Casey County Honor Guard follows in Willow Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and continues 8 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
