James Warren Vaught died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at his home in Elkhorn. He was 81. Born March 24, 1933 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Arvin and Maude Wilson Vaught. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include a son, James Dean Vaught of Liberty; two step-sons, Conrad Hicks of Junction City and Tony Hicks of Elizabethtown; two step-daughters, Linda Sallee of Campbellsville and Annette Cook of Elkhorn; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a half-sister. Funeral services were July 8 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Mr. Vaught was laid to rest in Whited Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad.
