Jeff Hatter, 60, of Liberty, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at his residence.

Born Oct. 10, 1956, in Casey County, he was the son of the late William "Billy" Hatter and Inez Wesley Hatter. Jeff was a member of the Valley Oak Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. Jeff was employed by the Specialty Foods Group as a key account sales manager. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in education.
He was also a 1974 Casey County High School graduate. Jeff had a great love for his farm, his horses and his church. Jeff was a "family man" as he loved his family with all his heart.

Survivors include his wife, whom he married on May 30, 1981, Linda Weddle Hatter; a daughter, Luann (Hagen) Williams of Liberty; a granddaughter, Lucy Belle Williams; a brother, Roger (Jean) Hatter of Bethelridge; a sister, Teresa (Pat) Terry of Dunnville; his mother and father-in-law, T.M. and Betty Weddle of Liberty; and brothers-in-law, Tommy Weddle of Liberty and Wallace McAninch of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Laura Ann McAninch.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Valley Oak Baptist Church with Brothers Troy Merrick and Bobby Clark officiating. Burial follows in Valley Oak Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to11 a.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty and from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers are Paul McAninch, Mark McAninch, Billy Hatter, Kyle Terry, Andrew Weddle, Ricky Carman, Kenny Wesley and Ken Coffman.
