Jewell Woodrum Coleman, 77, of Liberty, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born April 11, 1939, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lora Whited Woodrum.

She was a housewife and farmer.

Jewell loved to cook, talk to her friends and feed everyone.

Survivors include a son, Chris Coleman of Liberty; a daughter, Karen (and Nathan) Slone of Liberty; two grandchildren; Devin Coleman and Channer Slone; two sisters, Irene Roberts and Ernestine (and Larry) Thomas, both of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Faye Woodrum; and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnnie Coleman, who passed away Jan. 17, 2000; and brother, Gerald Woodrum.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty with Brother Johnny Maupin officiating. Mrs. Jewell Coleman will be laid to rest in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 11 a.m. until funeral service.

Pallbearers are Randy Dalton, Donnie Hatter, Kolby Slone, Leon Buck, Johnny Coleman and Jason Slone. Honorary pallbearer is Bobby Williams.
