Judy Gossett, the daughter of the late Woodrow Powers and the late Okla Murphy Powers, was born Sept. 27, 1942 in Liberty, and she departed this life on Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Barbourville, having attained the age of 71 years. Judy was united in marriage to Bobby Gossett, who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Powers and Lonnie Powers; and two sisters, Wilma Brown and Nona Vaught. Survivors include two children, Joby (and Rita) Gossett of Nancy, and Joetta Gossett of Nancy; three grandchildren, Jordan Gossett (and his fiancé, Samantha Ethridge), Christopher Lance (and Samantha) Minton, and Brayden Gullett; and two great-grandchildren, Conner Minton and Jeremiah Gossett. Judy was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was an owner/clerk of Gossett's General Store. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Murrell Crockett officiating. Burial will follow in Cain Town Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Judy Gossett will receive friends today (Wednesday, April 30) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pulaski Funeral Home. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements.
