Larry Silcox, 77, of Knifley, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2:45 p.m. at the U.K. Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born June 1, 1938, in Indianapolis, Ind., to the late Herman and Eunice Brown Silcox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Travis Silcox and Jerry Silcox; and one grandson, Thomas Gore.
He was a member of Knifley Christian Church, a carpenter, and enjoyed serving as a handyman in the Knifley and Roley area.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Tucker Silcox; a son, Larry II (and Mercy) Silcox of Texas; two daughters, Kathy (and Rick) Hornberger of Paragon, Ind. and Karen Mallozzi of Oregon; two brothers, Paul Silcox and Mike Silcox, both of Indiana; four grandchildren, Christy Lockhart, Stephanie Webb, Laurece "Rece" Silcox, and Larry "Trey" Silcox III; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were April 16 at 11 a.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Hugh Withers and Bro. Raymond Martin officiating
Burial was in Humpress-Hovious Cemetery in Knifley.
Casket bearers were Delbert Perkins, John Peckinpaugh, Melvin Johnson, Nolan Cole, Barry Bennett, and Charlie Shields.
Memorials are requested to be in the form of donation of Gideon Bibles. These may be made at the funeral home.
