Lester Larkins, 83, of Liberty, passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, in his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Eubank, a son of the late Cleo M. and Martha Thompson Larkins. Lester is the late husband of Lillian Fay Clements Larkins. They were married 62 years.

Lester retired from General Electric after 23 years of service and moved to Casey County where he lived the past 22 years. He served our Lord by singing in various gospel groups over a span of 50 years. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy (Doug) Frisby of Batavia, Ohio; a son, Daniel (Marlene) Larkins of Whitley City; five grandsons, Jeremy (Victoria) Larkins of Michigan, Jamie (Sarrennia) Monday of Arizona, Brandon (Sarah) Monday of Michigan, Tracy Frisby of Kentucky and Michael Larkins of Ohio; a granddaughter, Jennifer Larkins of Ohio; four great-granddaughters; a great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Joyce (Johnny) Maupin of Liberty; and a brother-in-law, Larry Roger Clements of Indiana.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Martha Richardson, Mary Kelly, Elfreeda Debrode, Gladys Estes, Dorothy Deborde and Betty Seybold; four brothers, Wade Larkins, Cecil Larkins, Orville Larkins and Hershel Larkins; and his father and mother-in-law, Omer and Anna May Clements.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Brother Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial follows in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty and continues at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the church.
