Lorene Roy Chapman passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at the Liberty Care Center. She was 96. Born Dec. 3, 1917 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Coffey Miller. She was a homemaker and member of the Thomas Ridge Christian Church. Lorene is preceded in death by husbands, Columbus Roy and Roscoe Chapman; and sons, Lester "Doodler" Roy, Junior Roy, Kellie Ray Roy, and Bobby Roy. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Gene (and Louise) Roy of Dunnville and Jackie (and Edith) Roy of Dunnville; four daughters, Opal Roy of Dunnville, Josephine (and Lloyd) Wilson of Liberty, Louise (and Don) Thomas of Liberty, and Brenda (and Earl) Wilson of Liberty; three brothers, Bobby Coffey of Somerset, Reuben Miller of Indiana and Newell Miller of Ohio; and four sisters, Rose Oldham of Ohio, Marie Coleman of Louisville, Ruth Butler of Indiana and Nellie Coleman of Liberty; 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Sherman Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Thomas Ridge Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation is today (Wednesday, Feb. 5) from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
