Lorie Ann Coomer, 52, of Columbia, formerly of Liberty, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at 1:14 p.m. as the result of an explosion and fire at her home on M. Coomer Road, Columbia.
She was born July 9, 1963 in Ft. Myers, Fla., the daughter of Mary Ann James and the late Charles Sikes.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Matthew Rodgers, in 2009.
Lorie was involved in the Triple C Drilling Company in Columbia and the Kentuckiana Truck Pullers Association.
Lorie and her husband Mitchell, and her granddaughter, Kinley Rodgers, departed this life together Jan. 26, 2016.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Ann James of Liberty; a daughter, Heather Rodgers of Lexington; a son, Joshua (and Ashley) Rodgers of Liberty; a granddaughter, Lakkin Rodgers of Liberty; four brothers, Charles R. Sikes of Paducah, Darrin James of Liberty, C.W. Sikees of Alva, Fla., and Robert James of Purdy, Mo.; five sisters, Tammy Thomas of Tazewell, Tenn., Tina Whidden of Kirbyville, Texas, Tracy Bradley of Danville, Melissa James of Purdy, Mo., and Kimberly Dillion of Alva, Fla.; 29 niecees and nephews, and 18 great-nieces and –nephews.
A memorial service was Feb. 1 at 3 Trees Church in Russell Springs.
