Lowell D. Lynn Sr., 70, of Martinsville, Indiana, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, June 25, 2016.

Lowell was born Nov. 13, 1945, in Casey County to the late Ira and Ola Murphy Lynn.
He attended Wood High School in Indianapolis and received a degree in pastoral ministry from Union Bible College & Academy in Westfield, Indiana. Lowell was also a preacher for more than 20 years.

Lowell was retired as owner and operator of L.D. Lynn Electrical & Mechanical Services in Plainfield, Indiana. Prior to that, he worked as a supervisor for Max Katz Bag Company in Indianapolis.

Lowell attended the Gateway Chapel Bible Holiness Church in Martinsville, was member of the National Rifle Association and a proud delegate for the Republican Party. He enjoyed reading his Bible, walking in the woods and was a collector of flashlights. Lowell enjoyed traveling and helping others. He worked many missionary trips and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Lowell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gay Francis Murray Lynn, whom he married Oct. 20, 1962, in Trousdale, Tennessee. He is also survived by his children, Christina Hansel and Lowell D. (Jessica) Lynn Jr., all of Coatesville, Indiana, Donald C. (Christine) Lynn of North Salem, Indiana, Rachel (Thomas) Roach of Martinsville, John P. (Betty) Lynn of Plainfield, Jessie A. (Stacie) Lynn of Martinsville, Joseph A. Lynn of Plainfield and Lori D. (Buck) McKinney of Coatesville; siblings, Lois Beck of Louisville, Geraldine Francis of Speedway and Gary (Netty) Lynn of Liberty; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lucille Neff and Donnie Lynn.

The Rev. Marcus Dodrill will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gateway Chapel Bible Holiness Church, 469 N. Marion St. in Martinsville.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. A graveside service is at 11 a.m. Friday in Wilson Cemetery in Liberty.
