Malvery Morris Mc-Knight Pennington Cole of Columbia, formerly of Madison and Canaan, Ind., died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. She was 86. Malvery entered this life on Nov. 9, 1927 in Jackson. She was the loving daughter of the late Henry Sr. and Dicie Shouse Morris. She resided her early life in Jackson, attended school there and was of the Baptist faith. She was united in marriage to Bidge McKnight Sr. in 1942 and this union was blessed with nine children. She worked early in life for a sewing factory in Liberty. After the death of Bidge she was united in marriage to Nathan Pennington in 1985 and he passed away in 1990. She was employed with Madison Plastics in Madison, Ind. and had resided in the Jefferson County area for 20 years. She resided the past 35 years in Casey County. In 2011 she was united in marriage to Donald Cole Sr. and he survives. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She enjoyed attending Bruce's Chapel in Casey County. Survivors include her third husband, Donald Cole Sr. of Columbia; her daughter, Lily Kinman of Adair County; her six sons, Virgil McKnight (and his wife, Elizabeth) of Casey County, Preston McKnight (and his wife, Shirley) of Casey County, Arthur McKnight of Louisville, Henry McKnight of Adair County, Wayne McKnight of Columbia, and Larry McKnight (and his wife, Melinda) of Shepherdsville; her step-sons, Eaf McKnight of Jackson and Donald Cole Jr. of Pennsylvania; her step-daughter, Mary McKnight Martin of Springfield, Mich.; her three sisters, Dot Overpeck (and her husband, Rick) of Grapevine, Texas, Virginia Stephan (and her husband, Alois) of Canaan, Ind., and Lydia Ann Lainhart (and her husband, Darrell) of Harrodsburg; her sister-in-law, Gaylean Morris of Canaan, Ind.; her two brothers, Earl Morris (and his wife, Marilyn) of Bennington, Ind., Harvey Morris (and his wife, Wanda) of Harrodsburg; 14 grandchildren; 26 step-grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bidge McKnight; her second husband, Nathan Pennington; her sons, Oren and Walter McKnight; her step-children, S.J., Imogene, Maxine, Charlie, Bidge Jr., Ray and Tillie McKnight and Martha Shouse; her brothers, Virgil, Henry Jr., R.T., Bobby and Willmer "Bill" Morris Sr.; her sisters, Alberta Morris, Betty Avis Dalton and Flora Ellen Reynolds; and her grandchildren, Jeffrey Glen Roberts and Melissa McKnight. A funeral service was held Sept. 28 at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Ind. with Pastor Ed Roberts officiating. Internment was at Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Ind. The family requests memorials in memory of Malvery to the Donor's Choice. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
