Matilda E. "Tilly" Mays Love, an angel returned to Heaven on the morning of Sept. 8, 2012. She was 85. Born April 21, 1927 in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Monta Combs Mays. Matilda enjoyed her family, traveling, boating, dining out, fishing, dancing, music, and shopping. She was the loving matriarch of the family. Tilly was cherished by all of her family, a son, Bruce Weddle (Connie); a daughter, Brenda Conrad (Don); a brother, Joe Mays (Esta); two sisters, Virginia Rudolph (Cecil) and Linda Russell; six granchildren, John Weddle, Shanda Swagler, Leah Booher, Abby Weddle, and Justin and Jeremy Watts; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Weddle, Dexter Swagler, and Austin and Benjamin Watts; and a devoted friend, Frank Shaney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Love. It was Matilda's wish to be cremated. A memorial service was held Sept. 14 at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany, Ind.
