Michael "Mike" Carmicle of Liberty passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. He was 74. Born in Casey County on Feb. 20, 1938, he was a son of the late Jesse and Minnie Cooper Carmicle. He was a self employed brick mason who retired in 1992. He served as an Elder at First Christian Church in Liberty. Survivors include his wife, Brenda McAninch Carmicle; a son, John Michael (and Cindy) Carmicle of Louisville; a daughter, Rachael Carmicle of Louisville, a grandson, Jack Carmicle, special friend and sister-in-law, Debra McAninch. He also leaves behind brothers Larry (and Carolyn) Carmicle of Liberty and Jesse "Buddy" (and Clair) Carmicle of West Chester, Ohio; two sisters, Linda Carmicle of Liberty and Brenda (and Kenny) Anderson of Campbellsville. Survivors also include a half-brother, Jerry (and Linda) Carmicle of Plano, Texas; and a half-sister, Loraine Beal of Liberty. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mona Troutman; and three half-brothers, Howard, James, and Paul Carmicle. Funeral services will be today (Wednesday, Aug. 22) at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church with Rev. Homer Hecht officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jerry Foster, Danny Jeffries, Jim Helm, Larry Griffin, Mickey LaFavers and David Cundiff.
